Artist's Comments

Okay, it's been quite a while since I've submit something. Well, something traditional at least.
So, this is what I've been working on for the past 8 months or so.

The girl in the picture is a girl from my class, Hanna.

How do I keep a firm grasp on a comfort so rare, and yet appears visible to anyone willing to search for it...

Ok, I knew you were good but this is so stunninig! :omg:
There's just one thing I can't understand... The hat should create a cast shadow over her face, but this doesn't happen so the hat looks kind of separated from the rest of the drawing...
That's also because the light on the right side of the hat (a pure white) isn't so strong on the same side of the girl's face or of her hair.

But this is amazing, I can't understand how you rendered the hat so detailed... :worship:

Thank you. :D
And I know what you're talking about, but that's how it looks in the photo. There is a soft shadow on her forehead from the hat. But it's pretty light and the "fur" from the hat makes it look lighter than it is. And in the photo the hat was kind of over-exposed, but I quite liked that, so I drew it just the way it was. And the contrast between the light, on her right side of the face and hair, and the light on the hat is accurate too, believe it or not.

Absolutely stunning. I can only pray to draw that well eventually. The detail of the hat is amazing and her eyes are gorgeous.
